Sydney overnight
Well what an absolute rush to get to the plane. Great excitement with baby Jackson being born on Friday night before we departed. We waited up until Dad Shane arrived about midnight on Friday night to share his and Caitie's wonderful story. Jackson weighed in at 8lb 4. All well! To bed at 230 up at 630 rushing around doing the last minute things. …
First blog
Here is my first blog. It will only be short as it has taken me awhile to work out how to use the free wifi at the Sydney Airport. Thanks for giving me a lovely send off yesterday. The room at the Mercure Hotel was nice and I was up early this morning to come to the Airport. I am enjoying a nice but expensive coffee in the middle of the shops. It's …
Sydney-toronto-sydney, where are we?
HI: I think it is Saturday night here and I think we are back in Sydney OZ, but I couldn't swear to it. There is no snow on the ground and the palm trees are blowing in the breeze at 30 C, so it likely is OZ.
Tomorrow we fly 8 hrs to Bangkok in Thailand. There probably is a Bangkok somewhere in the USA, but this is the real one.
As usual, we start the same way
Same old same old but it is always the tried and tested that really works. We stayed the night before flying out at the Airport Mercure. This really is the best way to start - no fussing about getting to the airport on time on the day of the flight and especially when one would have to negotiate that blasted M5. Nah, nice and easy by train to the …

Renovations fully finished said the sign on entry. Well, new carpet, a flat screen TV and a coat of paint don't cut it when the 80s style fixtures and furniture show the same wear and tear of yesteryear. Lovely staff though tried to make up for it, but I wouldn't stay again.

Drove from Canberra to Sydney and checked in at the Mecure. Little did we know the Seahorse Association was having their Gala Ball there!!! Look up the orgainsation and you will see why it was interesting!
Jill made the booking and when we arrived, there was all manner of confusion as the room had already been booked in. They rang the room and sure enough, John Simpson answered the phone.
Needless to say, it was interesting but we were upgraded so all was good.
