I left amsterdam today to head back to germany. Stopped at a place called giethoorn which is an entire village in water. You can rent a boat for just 15 euros and sail around for an hour. It was interesting but the drive back through european mountains and farmland was equally ...

There's too much to say about my mini holiday in the crazy Dutch country so I'm just going to summarise my time in it with a few paragraphs. Holland is definitely more than just Amsterdam, it's full of such nice people who make you feel so welcome in their home ^^ I mean it's nearly as bad as my home with the amount of food offered. I even met the most clever dog I've ever met. Some of the other stuff that I got up to in Holland where: * Explored a town called ...

The Shul and Streets of Elburg

A travel blog entry by vpritchard on Jul 26, 2014

We walked the Mid-evil streets of Elburg and saw the beautiful village houses, courtyards full of flowers and cobblestone streets too narrow for cars to pass through. ... we missed the high temperatures that had been experienced on the days just before our arrival. And we also missed all the traffic chaos courtesy of Mr Obama’s visit to Berlin.

After 3 nights in Berlin, it was time to drive to Oldenburg in Niedersachsen (Lower Saxony) – look at a map, that’s across nearly the entire German country! But we couldn’t have chosen a better day to travel – Sunday. For those of you who ...

    Broken down in Rijssen...

... found out that one of the cylinders and
its piston had cracked so our best option was to find a second hand
engine to put in. Unfortunately the car is too old and we can't find an
engine that fits. Now all we're left with is to restore the engine we
have which is going to set us back $$$. We will decide what to do during
the day today and once we know more I'll write again...

    Until then... :)
