... nl to see if they could fix the issue with the leisure battery not charing. They could not have been more helpful! I think every mechanic came out to take photos! They diagnosed the issue - a broken split relay thingy, and pointed me in the direction of an auto shop back in the direction I had come from. Today Gitta and Paula drove us over the big Afsluitdyke! I've been wanting to see this! We stopped at the monument and took in the views. There is a monument to the man Lely who was behind the dyke being built. The dyke is 7m above average sea level and about 30km long. Quite a lot of people driving and cycling across today. Thanks to our airbnb host's directions, we arrived in Harlingen without much difficulty. I was glad I had watched an old YouTube video of the building of the dikes in Holland because it gave me a lot more appreciation for what I was seeing. What a testament to what people can accomplish! ... out, the bed and breakfast we were staying in was just a bit outside of town in an old converted dairy farm. When we finally arrived at our B&B we were greeted by the owner Carmen, who asked me if I might like a beer. Nice! The place was ultra quaint with goats pinned next to the car park and chickens roaming about in the yard next to a small pond. As we spoke with the owner she informed us that her boyfriend Olaf was out kiteboarding at the 'Boo Locker Wag'! ...
