A drink required saw us find a bar which was a step back in time, proper old German bar with steins. We also made a brilliant purchase of 50% Rat Killer alcohol.
In the corner of the next Hameln bar Lucy found a play area with a toy kitchen and dolls and she declared it had been the best day so far!

On the Sunday I moved bases: from the hotel in Bad Pyrmont, to an apartment for a full week in Quedlinburg, 2 hours drive.

After 20 hours of planes, trains, and automobiles, we have arrived safely at our destination and can once again sleep in a horizontal position. ... was out with the boys. Eckard had been lined up to prepare a raclette dinner, much to the delight of young Leo. Traditionally a meal that is served with time to spare, as its a long meal, the emphasis being equally on eating and sharing time with friends and family. Our raclette dinner was no exception. Everyone tucked in, everyone talked.
