    Around 90% of Hannover were destroyed during WW2 and when I saw some of
    the old houses that remained untouched it really broke my heart as I
    could only imagine how pretty this city must have once been.

    I hope you will enjoy the (rebuilt) remains as much as I did.

    ... very much the cosy bed with the soft pillow and the nice bed linen.

    The breakfast was fantastic, too. You could make yourself waffles, or full English breakfast or tomato mozzarella or you could take honey out of a real honeycomb. :-) How cool is that? And you were also given your own newspaper in the morning.

    Well we were greeted with thunderstorms on our last morning in Denmark, and had a very soggy pack up at Western Camp, as the hairy bikers trundled out in their motor trikes and caravans.     ... modern high rise buildings and a really healthy shopping life. During the last days of the war, the Allies - us and the Yanks carpet bombed the city and destroyed much of it. Now, happily it has been rebuilt and many of the older civic buildings have been restored. The Rathaus is huge and impressive.
