Outside appearances are very misleading at this hotel. It is very serious need of an internal makeover and some updating. The rooms were a bit smelly, and the bathroom needed a makeover. There was clearly plumbing issues throughout the building as we woke up in the morning to a dripping ceiling to the entrance of their dining room for breakfast. The upsides were a decent pool, sauna, game room, and gym in the common areas outside. If you're not concerned with some minor inconveniences and aren't looking for luxury, but a fairly priced hotel with a room for a night or two you could probably do worse than the Golden Tulip, but you could definitely do a whole lot better too!

Our room is big and the bed is comfortable, but a disturbing back lit picture of a wood pecker looms over the bed in a creepy fashion..we have to find the switch for that thing! 30 June 2014 The ...

... monuments and artistic intrigue. We made it to Santa Teresa with its crumbling mansions now housed by artists and their workshops creating a bohemian ambiance. We walked down the Escadaria Selaro where a Chilean artist covered the steps between Santa Teresa and Lapa in tiles from over 120 countries from all over the world. He then doused himself in kerosene and set himself on fire, according to the courts findings, however there were rumors that his assistant ...
