Woke up at 6,30am not sure where we are as we are just moving very slowly could be we are waiting to go through another lock or for a berthing slot in Breisach as the itinerary said we'd arrive in the early hours. Just put the bow cam on and it is a lock, it can't be much further though as we left Strasbourg at 10pm last night. Finally arrived in Breisach 4 hours late, we feel for the Captain whose been on duty 11hours now navigating us safely through a ...
It rained in the night and we woke to the clouds low on the mountain. Anita had an early hair appointment so she gave us a lift to the thermal baths in the town. They were not open until 9oc, so we went for a walk in the rain. Had to sit in a coffee shop for a while. The thermal baths were very smart. Anita does not speak any English and we sat round with glasses of water, until, at 9oc, I said to Lilli "does she ...
... bends. You could slow it down with hand -brakes, but it was still fast and leaned over on the corners --28 bends in all. I reached the bottom without too much drama, but it was a scary experience, well out of my comfort zone ! We had a good laugh over my discomfort! We next went on to Feldbergv, a huge winter ski resort, even higher in the mountain. We had our picnic lunch there- at 4pm-- then went for a walk to a chalet along ...
