In the morning we travelled to Sevapatura Park and were fitted with safety harnesses, helmets and gloves and set off to fly through the cloud-forest on zip lines. There were 14 in all. Some were faster than others, it gave you an incredible view from within and above the forest. At the end there was a high Tarzan swing that made some people shriek, some swear and some make strange, guttural noises! The best was kept til last ...
We took the Farm Tour at Finca Luna Nueva at 9am. The guide, Ishmael, was very knowledgable. He showed us the many different plants they grow there and explained much about their ethos of biodynamic organic farming. They diversify their planting within small areas to dissuade insects from damaging plants, they crop, plant and spray at certain times in the lunar cycle and they encourage CO2 capture by allowing many types of plants to grow together.
Today I finally got off the plane to Brazil. I went to my hotel at the Hotel casa da Montanha, and by that time is was around 12:30. I wanted to do a little exploring to see what was out there. First I explored the city of Gramado. I took a bus down to Lago Negro (The black lake), and i decided to listen to some cultural music on the way down. ... Brazilian food (and caipirinhas). And that's all in addition to my everyday life of watching my landlady play cards and staying up late to watch cartoons and half-do my homework. It's been wonderful. Really really wonderful.
