... We even had a photo for the local paper!

After walking the students back to the lycee, we were shouted a wonderful three course lunch by Madeleine at 'The Old Fig', a restaurant under (yes you guessed it) a huge fig tree. After a restful afternoon, an alfresco dinner and some French TV, we are ready to face Monaco tomorrow.

No pictures today. The camera begged for a rest...

    A demain.

... in Moustiers-Ste-Marie, it started to rain quite hard. Rain jackets were donned, but then we started climbing the gorge very shortly thereafter. Those plastic rain jackets do keep the water out, but they promote a lot of wet from the inside. For most of the morning we were like the Army on Remembrance day - jackets on, ***********. ... thunder we did not see any more rain, and by noon were almost dry. The first thirty km were quite pleasant. Tom, Linda and Dave caught up to us just before we started the climb. We had a coffee together, then said goodbye to them as they roared off and we started the climb, first to the village of Aiguines at about 530 M where Caroline had another great lunch for us, then to the first lookout at 964 M ...
