Day 16 - The Monte Carlo
... It can be quite disorienting to when your used to paying the person that serve you and ten they ask you in another language to pay elsewhere! It was a very good croissant though! We return to the ancestral manse
... cones and stopping suddenly to look in a shop window, blocking the narrow way. We revisited the old church at the highest point in the village. Then we tracked down the shop of our German friend Giesela, proprietress of Les Trois Etioles. It had moved to another part of the village, but the fabulous home-made liquors were alive and well. In most high schools, and even universities, in the U.S., they have a very detailed field trip plan and everyone is very restricted as to what they can go see and when. The trips we take here are very "do whatever you want and see what you want on your own". They treat us more like adults, and i'm really liking that. Au revoir Cannes, a tout a l'heure

However, after dinner at the college and as the sun was setting, me, Jenny and Olivia went for one last swim in the Mediterranean, out to the floating docks we always meant to swim back out too.
