... br> Seemingly I had another brush with Cate today and after my experience at Dubai airport I'm starting to believe she might actually be watching over me. Helen and I stopped for a glass of hot wine after a couple of runs at one of the many mountainside cafes. The saucer on which Helen's wine was delivered had a brief reference to the brand of coffee ...

Whilst my grief over the last 6 months has overshadowed everything, one thing that has shone through is the amazing support I've received from family and friends. ... I felt so far away from this very Australian day..

Then today the snow the whole region has been hoping for arrived. I awoke to a magical scene, a real fairyland .There is nothing quite like waking to a countryside blanketed in snow; apart from its beauty the silence is deafening.

And the ski fields got a good fall as well so there is an excellent chance Helen and I could be skiing in a day or two. I can't wait.

Woke to really bad weather, rain and as we were so high it was very misty too. Decided to have a large leisurely breakfast and hope it cleared, it didn't, so on with the jackets and off we go. It was a 2 lane road uphill from the hotel but not too bad as not much traffic but then TomTom decided the best route was to carry on & it got even steeper and very busy with a slip road full of traffic coming in from ...
