... We walked in the rain through the old town which criss-crosses over the many canals. The water is high in the canals and running very fast from the lake. The ducks were having trouble swimming in the water! We looked at a few shops and made our way to Lake Annecy. Annecy is a very mixed town, full of apartments, offices and many other things. Many of the people did not speak English very well because it's a small town. The town is built on waterways and it backs up to the Alps.
