Torrential downpours kept me confined to barracks for most
of the rest of the day, tried to dry out all my rain and sweat stuff with the

who came for quiet – doing major construction from before 8am every day for at

After a prolonged thunderstorm in the night, this morning finally had some breaks in the cloud cover, which finally almost all lifted and with it much of the oppressive humidity.
Made some calls, moved rooms and got to the bus stop in plenty of time for the 10.50 bus – one of the girls in the pousada had looked up departure times – ½ hour later and still no bus but had a long chat with Marcelino from Sam Leopoldo in the south. ...

Also on my walk today rescued a big slimy green sea slug and a tiny (1”) ray that had both beached – the baby turtle was beyond rescue & the vultures were in competition for the pickings.
Retired to my balcony to enjoy a chachaca (pronounced ka-sha-sa) & Schweppes citrus – the lime segment “ice cubes” were a welcome brainwave!

Buses so ***** had to walk all the way back and then listen to bank employees tell me the closest one was in Camboriu – good job I ignored them as just down the road was Bradesco which gave me money! A great relief as prices here are hideous and can negotiate a better one with cash.
