      A warmer night and raining heavily this morning, we have breakfast and the drive to the Citadel, which was built by Vauban in the 27th century. It sits 100 metres above the old town which was the capital of Franche-Comote and a military centre. After we entered we went in search of coffee, the restaurant was open but set out for lunches, we could hear voices in the back but nobody came to serve us, so we left.       The thermometer us still reading -7 this morning, although we are warm enough inside we have a problem- the waste water pipes are frozen and so the water won't drain away. Once we are ready to leave we payed our bill at reception and set off to the supermarket, it was enormous and took us an hour and a half to find everything we required and a few extras, I love being in France, good cheeses, breads, and meats and loads ...
