After a few weeks of non-stop partying my mind and body needed some R and R and a cultural shot so I headed of to Belo Horizonte. Upon arrival at yet another new hostel I encountered my new and ´friendly´ spanish roomies. I cannot begin to explain how welcome I felt and how the rays of sunshine shone of their faces... Basically me asking how the breakfast system worked was answered by a growl and a ´how should I know´ by these lovely fellow europeans. Me waiting for the free internet is respo...

Sunday in Belo Horizonte, and everyone who has at least a leg or two is out and about. The main avenue is closed to the traffic and a street market takes place in the morning. All sorts of things are for sale from hundreds of stalls, and the locals seem very happy to drag home their purchases, from puppies to oil paintings, small furniture and lots of clothing. Just next to it is the central park ...
Belo Horizonte, State of Minas Gerais, Brazil sabaidii... for any other white people but couldn´t see one. After getting mugged in Salvador I have become slightly more cautious and I am embarrassed to admit it but slightly afraid of being alone in Brazil so instead of getting off the bus and going to the amazing looking market that I really want to explore I stayed on the bus and went back to the bus station where I stayed for 16 hours till my bus came. I feel like such a wimp for doing this but my ...

It sounded like a war ralley. Drums were set up in two different spots of the large concrete structure, and every minute there was a new song being shouted by every attending fan. There were smoke clouds, yellow and green, and thousands of yellow and green balloons released above us to the sound of fireworks. I have never seen so much ...
