Late in the morning Carla and Marcel took us for a drive to see their boat. Marcel had been working to replace rotten boards which was interesting to see. A very good sized boat, quite impressive. Then we went to Spakenburg, a beautiful old fishing village. It was market day so was bustling. In this village, some of the resident ladies still wear the traditional dresses. It is one of the ...

... the Royal Palace located within. Unfortunately there was a mini fair going on (maybe because this weekend is Kings Day?) and so the view was slightly obstructed but we were able to see some of it, we also saw De Nieuwe Kerk which was hosting a photography event, and also the Magna Plaza which is situated behind the Royal Palace, a neo-gothic building which is now used as a shopping mall for designer clothes. Over there I got organised and slept a lot.
The next morning I got up ...

The idea behind it was if they made soft drugs like weed legal then it would get people away from the hard drugs. I don't know how clever that is but whatever, it's their country. They also said that not that long ago they tried to ban the drugs but then gave up that ...

... dessert, we began our search for some apple pie. We found a dessert shop filled with fancy looking cakes and pies, so we walked in and ordered a slice. While it was tasty, it wasn't the warm and hearty grandma's apple pie I was looking for. It was more of the wedding cake type of apple pie, more pretty than flavorful. Still needing to pack, we stopped by the grocery store for some wine and headed home. A pleasant surprise, the half bottles of ...
