... toilet before I got on the plane. While still in the queue for bag drop got the text to go to gate 2. At least we knew where to go. Finally reached the gate at 6.35 but we were not last. Final call was flashing. Just as well it wasn't Ryanair. They'd have just closed the gate whether there were people in the queue or not. Next time I am getting to the airport at least 2 and a half ...
Well, our adventures are coming to an end.
We had an amazing visit to this wonderful city, a city with a river, Amstel, where the name of the city, Amsteldam........or....Amsterdam....... 100 km of canals, 1750 bridges along with as many bicycles as there are people!!!! Yes, that is right.....bicycles GALORE!!!!
Just slightly outside ...
... had been queuing next to, had Rembrandt's remains buried in it. We p************* load of pretty house-boats and smaller boats. My favourite boat name was Usain Boot. The tour took us on past St Nicholas Church, the Hermitage (links with Russia), some bike-parks, the harbour and a whole load of folding bridges in different colours and designs.
Finally, it was time for the supermarket sweep again and back to the hostel for sequential microwaved ready meals.
... to be in our room again... Chill and have a Jaga and coke, and packed up bags ready to leave tomorrow. We couldn't help but go back to same bar as last night... Close to hotel, got atmosphere I. The sunshine, and awesome food. Cam git spare ribs again, and I got chicken satay... Yum.. Very good food here. Had another drink at another bar.. Good chilled fun last night. Bring on Vegas for next ...
... sneakers. No one wore a helmet. There were kids riding in kiddy seats in front of the adult or in back of the adult, or even just sitting on a ledge over the back tire of the bicycle. Sometimes they were holding on to the riders waist, but often they were not. They were just sitting either straddled or to one side! The final "what the heck?" Was when we saw bikes that had been rigged with a huge boat like wooden structure in front of the rider. We mean ...
