    ... in the Netherlands to follow this practice. Quite beautiful, lovely flowery designs. They wear a very stiff 'kraplap' over their shoulders (see the photo). Also part of the skirt had to be ironed a particular way to result in horizontal creases. In the museum a lady showed us the historical dress of the village. There are about 100 canals in Amsterdam); the busy Leidsestraat shopping street (straat = Dutch for a street without a canal); the "When Nature Calls" Smartshop, which sells various drugs that are above-board here but illegal at home (since they are found in nature, the Dutch government considers them legal); and the Delft Shop (with the distinctive blue & white Delft ceramics).     ... Paul and I decided to do our washing. And who were we to find in the kitchen again..? Our friends from emerald! And they were cooking again. Oh dear, I said to Paul, they are going to think we only turn up when they are cooking food! And yes they offered us lots and lots of food but we just couldn't manage to fit anything in after our huge Mexican dinners.     Both not feeling 100% which is. A bit of a bummer bit were still managing to have a wicked time. Tomorrow were gonna enjoy the more cultured side of Amsterdam! And maybe have a space cake. I mean ... an ordinary cake.

    ... second class, it is not a bad trip really and couldn't justify first class seating. This particular ride is a bit long, and there was little circulating air so that got gross but bearable.
