Another lazy day, again too drizzly to do laundry. We wandered into town in the afternoon for an explore along the canal path. Pretty trees and pretty peacock bushes led us to a floral bridge opposite the train station into the town centre. Looking back through the photos, it actually looks quite cute but, honestly, it was awful! Being Sunday, everything was closed and ************e was about but the few ...

When we got back, we were all pretty tired and so we set up the beds and went to ...

... though. We walked to the beach, and had another really nice dinner out. Walking some of the streets here is good agility training for hockey - you have to constantly dodge dog poop on the sidewalks. Quite gross. We will spend the night in Nice, and take another train tomorrow to La Brigue, where we will begin our one week hike! No idea how tough it will be - guess we'll find out ...

    Paris to Troyes

Heading south to Chablis-Dijon today, we stopped at Troyes for lunch. Troyes (pronounced trois) is a rebuilt truly Medieval town which is being restored to its former glory. The mostly wooden buildings were burnt in the 1610s so was rebuilt using mud brick and stone but in the same style. We checked out ...
