... I was crazy mad with the speed of the descent.
Not much else happening today, had a nice pasta lunch and may double up for dinner. Cleaned the bike it was filthy with all the rain we have had and watched a little TDF.
We are off at sparrows to drive to Le Bourg D'Oisans to spend the day in the region. I will climb the legendary l' Alpe with its 21 hairpins and the meet Mich at the Saturday markets in Le Bourg.
Woke up with high hopes of an early ride today looked out the window and could not believe how far down the mountain the cloud had rolled. Climbing big Cols was out of the question.
We took an early morning trip St Jean de Maurienne to stock up on supplies and have a coffee and croissant. The weather started getting worse so it was time for bread, cheese, salami and wine.
By the afternoon the rain stopped ...
... and if the weather permits I will add the Montee La Toussure at 1705m.
Right outside our doorstep is the road to the Col Du Telgraphe and the Galibier which tops out at a frightening 2645m. That's looking like my Sunday sparrows ride.
We visited the ski village of Valloire today just above (on the road) but below the top of the Telegraphe in elevation. I could see part of the Galibier from there. Its an intimidating looking climb.

None of the clothes that we washed yesterday evening had dried in this damp weather, so I'd be riding in wet gear. To be honest, once I got ready and we made our way outside, I was really deliberating whether I wanted to do this ride, but damned if I was ...
We left Valloire and headed towards Les Deux Alpes, we had been warned of a cycle event going on from Valloire and as the site didn't mind what time we left we thought we would hold off as late as possible to leave and hopefully let the bike event finish, we only had 45 miles to do so it made sense!
