Mercure Salzburg

Austria still continues to impress. I arrived in Salzburg yesterday after a longer than expected train ride from Innsbruck. Part of the tracks were closed, so we arrived 90 minutes later. It was a beautiful train ride, so i didn't mind!

Day 3 – Saturday 19th September – We were up at the crack of dawn to pack, have breakfast and be ready to go for our pick up at 8:15am. Our breakfast at this place was really good and we really appreciated a hearty start to the day. I just hope my jeans still fit at the end of our trip!

I don't think we were in a bad area but I don't think I would have had a problem getting crack, if I wanted it, if you get what I'm saying. PS: In case we forgot to mention this earlier, our son Keith and Mike's mother, Peggy joined us on this trip. They are the two goofy characters posing in front of the Spielzeug Museum.

... the McDonalds and ended up sitting inside for a couple of hours looking up campsites, routes, ferries, etc. We got a few strange looks from the staff but at least we were able to use it for free! It was lunchtime by then so we made a couple of sandwiches and headed into Innsbruck-we managed to find a great parking space right near the old town. The colored houses and buildings along the river were really amazing and the town itself ...

... the sound of music was filmed. Salzburg was also Mozart's boyhood home, and there are plenty of monuments and cafes to remind you of it!!
I saw the most beautiful graveyard at an abbey right by the Salzburg castle. I've never seen such well tended graves!! Austria has delicious breads, that are a little salty and scrumptious food. I had a traditional pumpkin soup and a ...

I absolutely love Salzburg! The time Bekah and I spent here was amazing! We arrived at about 2:15pm Thursday afternoon and we went to the information booth at the hauptbahnhof to get a Salzburg Card right away. We had read about it online the night before and we are so glad we got it! It cost 32€ for 48 hours and you get free transportation around Salzburg, free entrance to nearly every Salzburg attraction, and ...

... a broken thumb and everyone was coming and asking him about it. He was a break-dancer and during practice he had broken his thumb. Ironical J!! He told me that there is a International Break-dancing competition in Salzburg on Saturday the 27th and around 7-8 teams from different countries are here in the hostel.
