... up was the wild foods weekend where 20000 people crowded up the mini town of Hoki to eat mental foods (like wild grubs, grasshoppers or raw paua), drink loads of alcomohol and listen to music whilst continuously shouting for ‘wagon wheel’ to be played. It was a pretty cool atmosphere and we stayed over at Rhys and Shelleys from ...

... a McDonald’s*. We headed back to our hostel to get our bags and get to the Ueno train station. We arrived at the station planning to buy tickets for the 2:56 train. Unfortunately the next available train didn’t leave until 4:00. We had told Adam we planned on getting to his house around 6:00 and now it looked like it would be closer to 7. With no way to get a hold of him, we prayed he would be waiting at the station when we got there. The bullet train, ...

... night all our feet hurt and I think the craziness of the whole week sunk in and we were dead exhausted!
The weekend is still very young but honestly I cannot wait for Monday! I can't wait to start working with the kids and getting to know their families. I just really think that this summer is going to open my mind up about a lot of things, and for that (and many other reasons) I feel really blessed to be here!

    Sending you all my love!
