I had a late breakfast and lazy morning around the hotel before heading into town for some lunch and making my way to Auschwitz I where I would begin my tour. A quiet, somber vibe seemed to come over all visitors, even the large groups of school children as they waited to enter the historic site. I won't go into the details of the ...

On top of that they are both usually Chandler loud (Chandler is my maiden name and we are not typically known for our meek timid demeanor). So yes, on our travel adventures, there are times when we are in ...

... Well she saved me from most of the hurt. I've had this weird calm understanding about my life and what had happened to my sister and i. I just didn't feel the hurt that most think i should or would feel. But i will say this trip has been very eye opening for me. I discovered that i am part Polish and Austrian on my grandfathers side. I didn't think i had Polish roots. That was pretty incredible. I did find out that my great grandfather was an SS officer in the German ...

... butter and dill, cucumber salad with sour cream, and had some leftover goulash to go with it. Heaven!

To top it all off, Polish volleyball players beat the team from Argentina 3:0 in sets, which means we regained our high standing in the group. Two more group competition games and then quarterfinals. God willing!

          Ok, back to the book!
