... the 49 and as we approached the 120 I started to twitch involuntarily. "Ohmigod ohmigod ohmigod that's high" I said as we looked up at the road that snaked up the mountain side. And yes it was flipping high, and narrow; for a vehicle that is 10 ft wide. AND we were on the right which is the cliff-plummet-to-your-death side of the road.

I changed ready for the meeting and then drove into Los Banos with about two hours to spare, so I got onto the net at McDonalds there and caught up with e-mails etc.

When I got to the hall locality, which I remembered the Garmin GPS mistakenly located as several blocks away last year, I found the new Garmin was just as wrong! Nevertheless, I was there well over half an hour before the meeting and I was surprised to see a bunch ...

... at the beginning of the Jmt, the boys of the group decided that we would use day 2 in Yosemite to day hike the first section of the trail.

Here is the story of 3 boyish men and there adventure that spanned 14 hours of hiking, 6,000 ft. And according to some signs 20, and others 30 miles. That ended with only a light and a lighter.

... up in Los Altos, just in time to joing my old friends, the Cave family, for Turkey Dinner. Kelly, Chris, and Jenny were all nice enough to invite us to spend the evening with them. We feasted on turkey, mash potatoes, stuffing... The whole 9-yards. With bellies filled to the point of discomfort, we enjoyed a fun ol' game of Taboo, before calling in a night.

... when you rode into town. We stopped for a light snack at the Yosemi Tea tearoom which specialised in different loose leaf teas from around the world - I opted for a vanilla rooibos which was delicious. (Mark/Michele, you would have loved this place - lots of different types of mate and other interesting teas) I bought some tea to bring home and after some delicious sandwiches and refreshments we went back out into the heat ...
