So with 6 weeks to go and Oli away in Florida, It has started to dawn on me how quickly our trip is coming round. My main concern is how on earth I'm going to fit everything into a rucksack that I will be living out of for 5 months!! With this in mind I decided to do a "practice pack" as a way of testing actually how many clothes I can jam into every corner and gap in my bag. The outcome was actually quite successful with the help of some hidden gems- the packing ...

Today was also a fun day in London as we were joined by Nick and Kieran who had lived with us for 5 months a few years ago. They are relatives of my son-in-law Matt.

Choosing my rucksack was a lengthy process that resulted in the purchase of my Berghaus 45 litre + ...

... Best hot chocolate so far!) we wandered around Trafalgar Square watching all sorts of street performers. We headed home for dinner and booked some more of our accommodation until the new year. That night we headed to Russell square to catch up with Emily Ross after her contiki. The pub we were at was the pub either at the beginning or end for contiki trippers and safe to say they were a rowdy bunch! ( think we are getting old haha). Today (14th) we head to Norwich for the next 3 ...

... in because you have to pee again, then you have to spend another 30p! I remember Paddington Station from my last visit when a pigeon targeted me from up in the station rafters where they roost. Maybe that's why I'm grumpy. Or maybe I'm still put off by the electronic toilet door on the Great Western from St Erth in Cornwall. You get inside and the semi circular door stays open. After you figure out which button to press to close it you realise the door's not locked. You need ...
