So with 6 weeks to go and Oli away in Florida, It has started to dawn on me how quickly our trip is coming round. My main concern is how on earth I'm going to fit everything into a rucksack that I will be living out of for 5 months!! With this in mind I decided to do a "practice pack" as a way of testing actually how many clothes I can jam into every corner and gap in my bag. The outcome was actually quite successful with the help of some hidden gems- the packing ...

So, I thought I would begin the adventure from home and show the run up to our adventure as well as some of the problems we face (& overcome!) We got off the plane a little stressed as our connecting flight was on last call, we could see where ...

... well. We finally bought single tickets and marched onwards with me grumbling about the lack of customer service. It's been seven years since last in London but its all starting to come back to me now. It's a Sunday afternoon in London which I foolishly had thought would be a relatively quite time but it's almost busier than peak hour in Melbourne loop on a Friday afternoon. We say goodbye to Jeremy who travels a different line to get back to his flat. We're now on and off ...

Good meal last night, no aches or pains this morning and clothes are now dry, After a full English breakfast, and in dry weather I set off from Thame quite relaxed.

The first 5 miles were along Phoenix Way, a fantastic level and smooth cycle and walking route along ex-railway line. Wild flowers on one side and grasses on other. This is ideal cycling. After that I managed to find a few ...
