... is serious ROS. Even the TD is smitten with the beauty of the 12th Century murals and floor tiles. My cause was helped by some modern artist displaying variations of Religious art. The old murals were amazing. With increasing confidence in using public transport and armed with maps detailing the colour coded rail lines, we have a cuppa and split to have retail therapy and to check out serious AS at the British Museum. I am so looking forward to seeing family and friends, and there are a random list of things that I have missed: my sofa; mashed potato; a fantastic Sunday roast; my kitchen; and my wardrobe of clothes. But at the same time, so many elements of this trip have been so enjoyable, enlightening and fun, I just don't want it to ...

Day 8 - Last day of the Olympics and the Marathon

A travel blog entry by 1pom.1aussie on Aug 12, 2012

... After the morning's excitement we take a stroll through Victoria embankment Gardens where there's crowds picnicking. It's another beautiful day in London.  We are meeting our nephew who lives in London for lunch and more sights of the city.  He takes us to one of Jamie Oliver's restaurants in Covent Garden and the food and service are good.  As usual, Covent Garden is buzzing.  There's more street performers today ...
