Our Last Day in London

... to see what all the fuss is about! We bought some tea at this famous store and walked by the many many designer purses and scarves on display. Such luxury shopping! We finished our day at Piccadilly Circus buying a few souvenirs, grabbed some dinner items at Marks and Spencer and headed back to the apartment for some down time and packing for the next leg of our journey.....Paris. The Fu got up before me and grabbed a croissant and tea in the Lobby. I got up around 11 and the Fu decided she wanted to do a full blown english tea brunch. She found a place that has been slanging tea since the 1700's not far from Buckingham Palace so we went out to hail a cab.

... again, across Horseguards' Parade, and down to the Embankment. We had arranged to meet friends Emma & Dave, who were having a meal at Tom's Kitchen (in Somerset House). We had a few tapas whilst waiting for them, and had a very pleasant chat over a glass of wine or two, before wending our way back to the flat, duly knackered!

Today (Thursday) we off to the South Bank, to meet Rita & John, plus Vicky, for lunch.

... We then hit Westminster Abbey, where the color of the stone is so different than anything else in the city. Afterward we walked through St. James Park (the parks are so quiet in contrast with the hustle and bustle of the streets) and looked at the traditional English gardens (including water fowl), which open up to a view of Buckingham Palace. ... events of the night before none felt able to make it out again. Soph and I had already decided we wanted to go out for a really good steak meal and since we had our heart set on it we decided to go despite the girls pulling out. The Argentinian restaurant we wanted to go to was fully booked so we headed into the centre and had an amazing dinner at a steak restaurant called Hawksmoor.
