We arrived in Como after a long drive from Bassano via Verona and the Hertz office to replace, yet again, the GPS. The Neverlost might be the case on the odd occasion that it works, but without it getting lost is actually quite simple. Anyway, we found the office and a very kind man who quickly replaced the unit and we were on our way. Verona had been recommended to us as a place to visit - not sure why. Leaving Milano, we started the day with Bergamo which is an ancient town about 40 km east of Milan we've been hearing a lot about. I have to admit that it wasn't as great as I thought it would be. Maybe it's just me setting my expectation too high.

We went up into the Campanone (a bell tower), which overlooked the upper city and lower city along with ...

... We arrived at 4:30 p.m., and located the taxi stand outside of the Milan station. We passed on the first taxi as not being large enough, but had to endure the "usual hand gestures and shoulder shrugging" from the driver for our non selection. We boarded the larger second taxi which took us to the Residence Le Corti located in Fiera Milano outside of Center Milan.

Fiera Milano is a very upscale residential ...

... and watching “Pillars of the Earth,” we certainly appreciate the workmanship that took 500 years to complete. Hard to imagine.
Read about a "Sunset Terraces" tour that the church conducts and spent around 45 minutes being directed to different places only to find out it is only in Italian.
