So it was an early start to get on the road and cover the long miles. We sadly decided to miss out on the pancakes that Vic's was offering to make us for brekkie to instead hit the road and get the long journey started!

The Audobon is a great way to travel through Germany to Denmark. Its a wonderfully fast drive. Actually, it doesn't seem all that much different from that of a highway here in the States. It's just a really cool road because there is no Speed Limit. So, we went to Denmark and saw some old castle ruins from the 14th century. I like Denmark. When we went it was pretty cold and dark. Daylight doesn't last long there especially in winter.

... s Hamlet. I haven't read Hamlet but this is what I am told :-) It dates back to about 1420 and was enlarged in 1585. My understanding is that it was used largely as some form of a tax collection port for the narrow channel between Denmark and Sweden. It looked grand enough, as did the moats. Today was a quite busy day. It started at 6.30 when I got up, so I could be at the exam room at 8.30, the required 30 min. before the exam started. I think I did okay at the exam, it was a three hour exam, where one had to translate a known text from Chinese into Danish, and an unknown text (Chinese->Danish) and then analyze three sentences grammatically. Spring at last, we have been waiting for it since March 1st, but it wasn't until May 1st that it came, but then it truly came, warm weather, sunshine, blooming flowers and tree, the whole thing...that's something that has got to make a pale, frozen Dane happy:-D

North Zealand is the northern part of Denmarks largest and most eastern island of Zealand, and this is way the majority of my stay will be taking place. I will be going to Norway in May, and I promise many pictures from that great country. Today Susanne and I are going to make a visit to Fredensborg Slot, the summer home for Denmarks Royal family. Well today started unusually, well not that unusual to someone who grew up in Alberta. This morning it was snowing, and in the afternoon the sun came out and it was spring again. I took this opportunity to walk around the neighbourhood and check out Kronborg Slot (Hamlet anyone). Well from a distance anyway.
