... car company was waiting at the hotel so we loaded up and took off to Denizli after haggling with the rental guy over cash or credit. The GPS and the internet maps I had printed said the drive was right at 4 hours...we made it in less than 2.5. If you went the speed limit (70 or 90 km) on the main roads, then yes it would take that long, but I was doing 140 and getting passed by locals like I was standing still!

They'd had a wonderful experience at Gallipoli and had a photo of "a boat flying a kiwi flag" at Anzac cove. ... Everyone is constantly walking around with a glass of tea in their hands and of course, every meal is followed by tea.

  • The locals also love to give you presents. So far, I have been given two bracelets and Lee has been given one.

    We landed at 9:00am at Dalaman airport, where the weather was much better than that we had left behind in drizzly Istanbul.
