Leaving the slum, then to Caspar (camping)

I've never been so happy to leave a hotel. This place was a DUMP.

We stopped by Point Reyes national park for some (more) good views, but mostly just enjoyed the scenery along route 1.

The dogs are doing well, as is the camper. We're happy Caspar is getting the help he needs, but sad to see him go.

We found a neat campsite with a beautiful ocean view (Caspar beach rv park), and settled for the night. Campfire w/ BBQ and beer. Life is good.

... bright sun, in pouring rain and in the fog and wind. This time it was overcast, but unusually calm. As we pulled into the campground area, we were treated to the sight of three magnificent young male Tule Elk who were grazing within 20 yards of the road (see picture).

Another notable difference is no one's rolling around blind drunk, legless, falling over totally maggotted, ****** as....If this festival is any indication whatsoever, drinking is not a sport for the left leaning folkies of America. Alcohol is there of course but it ...

... taller than Niagara Falls, and was 17 feet in diameter, 52 feet in circumference and weighed over 1,000,000 pounds. The oldest redwood ever recorded was 2200 years old.

While we were doing the Avenue of Giants we met a couple that was also at the last campground we were at. On Friday they joined us for a trip to Shelter Cove, ...

... but what a saga!!!!! In the end it was midday before we finally hit the road to the US, so much for our cruisy morning and early start on the road lol. Last time we went to the border we remembered that we had to cross a toll bridge. Now being tight haha we decided to avoid the toll this time, so we took a detour which sounds ideal but actually took us way longer and we ended up going over a different toll bridge anyway - good one google maps! :) This time we headed to the ...
