It is only with the promise of good weather that I head out to Balaton. I could easily stay in Budapest. Getting off the train at Revfulop, it feels like the wrong decision. Next we headed towards Lake Balaton in Western Hungary, the Hungarian equivalent of the Shuswap Lake in British Columbia. Zack and I just spent the last week at the largest and most popular lake in Hungary: Lake Balaton. The lake is HUGE, as in the average width of the lake is 5 miles across. Besides admiring the vastness of the lake, we also "enjoyed" seeing lots of sunburnt skin - as in more skin than anyone ever needs to see. Ever. We also cooked LOTS of Hungarian food, drank wine (which the region is famous for), and attended a genuine Hungarian birthday party.
Yay back to the waterside where I can cool off in the 25degree water.
Lake Balaton is the kind of crazy warm you don't feel cold hopping into.
