    Today 2-10 we pulled out of hickory at 10am and plan on driving somewhere around little rock ar. we are almost to memphis tn and are getting ready to stop and eat bbq. i will post pics later. we are driving a 02 toyota tacoma 2wd truck it has a camper shell on it that is water tight. i built a floor above the wheel wells and it fits a full bed …

    Navigating the streets of New Orleans was not as difficult as we had feared and we were soon on our way out of the city and onto the freeway. After around an hour and a half, our first port of call had to be breakfast - we were ravenous and knew we would need plenty of provisions for the long drive ahead. We pulled into a service station for breakfast and stocked up on enough junk food to last us for a couple of hours.

    ... nobody was in the service departments at 8:30 am. I finally stopped in Union City and got a new tube, so my tire pressure should be in good shape in the morning or AMA will be coming for a visit. (I wonder if they will pick up coffee and a Crispy Creme if I need them? Elizabeth would be jealous if they did.)

    ... importantly due to how much we enjoyed it, we ended up staying in silky O'Sullivan's pub. This is a huge place, mainly consisting of a huge outdoor terrace, complete with 2 separate bars (one of which also served directly to customers on Beale street) and a stage.

    Once in the room, i unpacked, did some sink washing, used the WiFi, then decided to go for a walk. By now it was sunny again, so i went down Beale street, took a few pictures, walked
    around, did a bit of exploring then went to a grocery store, got some beer, went back to the hotel, repacked my bags, watched a movie, used the WiFi, then got ready for dinner.
