    ... she loves it when you brush her hair or hold her hand. I see now where I have inherited my incredibly thick, straight hair from. At the age of 90 my oma still has a full head of white hair that is very like mine! We have made quite an effort to make her room as personalised as possible with her pictures and we have kept all the flowers up from her birthday.     ... Noisy though! Better weather, more Spring like, warm. Occasional shower. We had a shopping day and wander through the town of Ibbenburener. Traditional German restaurant on site , very authentic but our meal not as nice as the pub meal we had last stop!

    It is clear to see that summer has arrived with the fruit trees and vines in fruit in the Rosenthals yard. We have decided there is nothing better then eating cherries and black berries straight from the trees and we only wish we were here in another month or so we could try the apples and grapes.

    Away from Ypres by 9.30 in beautiful weather, hot and sunny. Not the best of journeys with several road works plus they closed the motorway in Holland and this added 10 miles and 45 minutes.     We said goodbye to Berlin and began making our way towards Cologne, with an overnight stop planned at Bielefeld.
