We had a heck of a rainstorm last night in Olympos; but it didn't delay the plan to travel westward on the Med. So, here we are in Kas, a beautiful quiet sleepy town with a yacht basin filled with sailboats. <br><br>The hostel is Beautiful. I think the best I have ever stayed in. And the price isn't too bad, although it is the off season. This Might be It- the place I have been looking for. But, of course, it's too early to tell.<br><br>

... was a saviour waiting for us in the form of an old lady shopkeeper who sat us down and provided us with grapes picked straight from the vine and figs straight from the tree. She's our hero!<br><br>After a couple of nights in the shed we headed further along the coast to a far more sophisticated location - our room in Kas was even equipped with BBC News! Kas is beautifully located on the coast and this time we enjoyed it ...

... I may be risking my life for saying this, but the Turkish coffee I had here (called "Greek Coffee") was far better than all the Turkish coffees I had in Turkey. On the way back I got to see my first dolphin, which decided to race our boat for about 15 minutes. S/he easily won. It was AWESOME!!!! So now that my passport has a Greek stamp in it I feel that this tiny sampling was enough to leave me with wanting more. Who knows, maybe it will be soon.

... taking a guided tour to the nearby historical sites.  Denis and I settled on an after noon, self guided walking tour to the couple of Lydian Tombs high on the hillside of town that date from the 3rd century BC.   Of course we got lost.  And of course, that meant an hour detour up, then down a steep mountain only to find that we could have arrived at the tombs, unwinded and dry had the maps been better.  Maybe it was the map reader(s)...
