Day 4: Rental Car, Market at Port, Old Jaffa

Looking back on the day, it seems our theme is "how many ways can…" At breakfast, we found on the buffet, honey made from dates. We think of honey made from bees, but here is date honey that is the same consistency and very tasty over our morning croissants. A quick Google search reveals that date honey is hard to find and easy to make. The …

Connections with People - from 6,000 B.C. to Today

It's our lucky day. We are greeted with a warm smile by the woman behind the ticket counter of the Eretz Israel Museum which focuses on the history and culture of the Land of Israel. She has good news for us, today admission was free! It's a once-a-year event and it is today. Clearly she …

INNOVATION, INDEPENDENCE AND SEEKING PEACE

It's 5:04 PM and we're back at the Melody Inn. The day is a blur of activity and as I recall our morning, it seems so long ago that it might have been another day! Time flies!

Day 1: What's Life Like in a Time Bubble?

A travel blog entry by journeyer

We're in the time bubble between home and our destination. We’ve left home behind, yet we haven’t yet arrived at our destination. Maybe there is some truth to the saying "the journey is the destination"?

After an overnight flight, we now have a three-hour layover in the Paris airport before our flight to Tel Aviv. Our Platinum …

Massada (Masada), Dead Sea, to Tel Aviv

about 23⁰C. Clear blue skies until mid-afternoon, then windy & blowing sand. Wind & rain at night.

We met Israel at 8:30 with our bags, after another delicious breakfast. It has amazed us that everywhere we have been in Israel any writing is usually only in Hebrew. We have been …

    Great Hotel in Tel Aviv

This place is right across the street from the Hilton Hotel, and its excellent beach. The staff here could not be friendlier, and the amenities are outstanding. The nightly buffet of snacks and drinks at "happy hour" is amazing. The internet is free, and breakfast a feast! The rooms are modern and cozy. Why stay at the Hilton when you can have such a great experience here?
