    ... announced that the staff was going out to the bar for a drink before curfew and everyone was invited. Of course, everyone headed out to have a good time (some had more of a good time than others). It was cool to have everyone out in an unofficial setting just hanging out but we also found it a little embarrassing to be a part of 100+ (loud) Americans who take over a bar while Italians are just trying to have a nice dinner.

    When we were on our way to Rome we made a short stop at Assisi. At first I do have to admit I was a bit fustrated. All I wanted to do was get to Rome as soon as possible. I felt like we were wasting our time by stoping at Assisi. Boy was I wrong!

    Yesterday, January First was a great day with a free morning to catch up on sleep after our New Year's Eve fireworks outing. In the afternoon we toured two special places dedicated to St Anthony of Padua. The first is a church built on the place where died. Pictures will be included.     ... ceramics. The owner gave us a tour of the factory, the museum, and the shop. He has had contracts with Tiffany, William Sonoma and Pottery Barn.
