Bressanone and Plose : snowboarding

2 planes - 1 bus - 3 trains - 1 taxi later and we arrive in Bressanone. About 40 hrs of transit was well worth it... this place is adorable - its like walking around in a postcard. Have been snowboarding the past 3 days which was lots of fun - bussed up the mountain to Plose ski fields area... have added some pictures and will caption the pictures if we can.

First few days in Bolzano

... dishes as well as cutlery from a dollar store or something and bringing it with you cause it's pretty expensive here and there are no dollar stores to speak of. There is a market every Satuday across the river where you can buy pots and pans for cheap, as well as a host of other stuff. There is also a farmer's market almost every day a block or two away from the school.

The first day I went to upim, which is kinda like a Shopper's drug mart and a Linens N Things combined ...

First stop of many!!!

... Innsbruck. At least this time I was not awoken from sleep and asked where my passport was. Ha ha ha!

The Innsbruck, Austria area has some of the most beautiful scenery around. Lush rolling hills, quaint old villages and some huge crazy modern bridges. I think it would be great to rent a car and travel around this area. Yet another trip to plan! If I win that SuperEnalotto…… I guess I can do pretty much anything I want!

Hiking the Dolomites

... views of the river, surrounding mountains, and the forest.

Alycia was feeling ill about 2 miles into the hike and rested at a picnic area while Cindy and I continued into a very rugged section of the hike. Later, we would discover that we had missed the unmarked turnoff for the falls. I made it out almost all the way to Paso di Limo before realizing the mistake. I backtracked to Cindy and we explored the wilderness some, finding some ...

Trekking and Climbing in the Dolomites

... addressed to Juliette from lovers around the world. Some real tear jerkers! We strolled though the marble paved streets through several piazze such as the beautiful Piazza Erbe and the grand Piazza Bra surrounding the ancient Roman Amphitheatre which now houses one of the world's most renowned and certainly most athmospheric opera stages: the open air Arena di Verona. Of course we had to take in an opera. After a nice picnic on the stone steps we used our pizza ...

Beating Bergamo

... though when a couple plays later, Andrea blew his coverage assignment and let #3 catch yard 33 touchdown on the other side. He was supposed to roll over from safety and cover the outside deep third, instead he was doing his own thing, not playing his responsibility and we gave up and easy touchdown. After that play I told Wood that I was going to play #3 for the rest of the game.

We go back on offense, and I hesitate to say I took over - but I took ...

Dolphins and D-III Players

... That killed me, the guy got set up tough.

Sunday June 31st

I woke up late, ate and then Coach Wood and I headed toTisma's house.  From there we weredriving to Bergamo to watch the Milano Rhinos and Bergamo Lions battle for thefourth playoff spot.  We would playthe winner.  I wanted to see thegame as well but also to film it the way I preferred the game to be filmed, nice and wide so you can see all 22 players at all times.  Unlike the way they ...

Solo in the Bozen Again, Hogs, and Wing T's

... the ball to his chest and absorbing a solid hit from the corner he had just beaten.  I missed the ensuing PAT so it was now 34-21.   All game when I kicked off they left a huge 20-yard gap in the middle of the field behind the first line of blockers who stood at ten yards.  Additionally, the RE player that lined up directly over me, ran to hit me as soon as I kicked off.  Most of the time I saw him and danced away but once I was lazy after kicking and he got a good pop on ...

Parma and [expletive] John Grisham

... chocolate croissants. It was unreal. I had a two helpings while everyone else just picked at it. When Andrea and I left a third of the plate was still untouched and I knew in my heart it probably would remain that way. My eyes misted as I walked out knowing that it was getting left behind. I thanked everyone profusely for the meal. It was one of the best I've had since I've been here. Walking to the car, Andrea told me his mom said that she'd never seen ...

Firebats & Fisticuffs - Well Maybe Not Fisticuffs

... t play which was disappointing. Edwin actually talked to me asking me various questions about players and the setup of Italian football. Christina jabbed me and whispered, "We got you two talking again" and then she started laughing. Back at home a desk has been sitting by the trash outside our building. I drug it inside to the elevator so I could take it up to my room, only to have the elevator not work. Hopefully it will still be there in the morning.
