One of the most suggestive points of the Dolomites is the Sella massif from where the four Ladin valleys branch off: Val Badia on the northern side, Val Gardena, Val di Fassa and the Livinallongo Fodom valley.

Müde, aber erfüllt von schönen Eindrücken, berichte ich euch nun über den zweiten Schulausflug in nur einer Woche, und zwar nach Bozen, wohin wir uns mit drei Klassen (2., 3. und 4.) aufmachten. ... beautiful scenic views. I had a chance to do some fishing - caught my limit and we cooked the trout in our kitchen. Wine at this altitude has a wonderful effect on supper believe me :)
Even though this is the end of the summer season the cable cars were running to all of the higher mountains and the air (between 12:00 and 4:00 pm was full of parasails and hang gliders. We stopped several times to watch them landing in the grass covered valley floors. ...
