Well weve arrived, an our on our first day here, after, being awake for almost 24 hours of traveling! We survived, the most interesting, (and Im pretty sure illegal in Canada) cab ride, We were in a smalll little van (not quite mini van) crammed in to its absolute capacity an more, there were 8 people in all, tightly packed with over 25 bags of luggage, an in case your wondering, there is no trunk, or any type of trunk at all, in this quirky little buses. Getting to the hotel, was nice, an ni...

Today we caught a taxi to Miroflores the area we had intended to stay, it cost 10 soles and seemed quite a way, too far to walk. It definitely seemed like an up market area and catering for tourists. There were places like Starbucks and McDonalds to visit and yes we went into McDonalds. The main plaza was nicely furnished with trees, walkways, seating areas and a childrens play area. There was the obligatory church which was nice outside and beautiful ...
Lima, Peru casebrownfamily... important, like my high school graduation. ha!
The first plane ride was 6 hours and i didnt get very good sleep, the only baby was sitting in front of me, screaming. the whole time. I was worried that an hour wasnt enough time to change planes in Panama but the airport is really small and it was plenty of time, and that flight was actually 3 hours. As soon as i got out of the baggage claim thankfully my ride was there with a sign with my name on it. My first ...
Lima, Lima, Peru strawberryk... I’ve known her forever. Jose and I talked some about Ambrose teachers and both knew we were exhausted. So we said good night and each headed our separate ways to sleep. Tomorrow 5:00 a.m. will be early and the adventure continues. My time in Lima was great. I felt at home at the Morzan’s. Maybe that is because I feel like family. Tomorrow I say goodbye and wonder when I will see them again. Was it worth a few extra days in Peru - YOU BET!
Lima, Peru lynneanddave... be best if I got one in case of emergency.

Immigration was very simple and went through smoothly. I thought it was pretty cool that before you exited Immigration you had to push a button and if it was RED you were in deep trouble (saw someone who had got it and they were looking through her stuff) and GREEN you are good to go.

I exited Immigration and wasn´t able to see my airport pickup so I decided to ...
Lima, Lima, Peru jlcalgary... ATM card. We had tried to use it over the weekend to no avail. Finally we located GlobelNet and had success! Keep that one in mind for the next trip. Percy met us back at the hotel, we finished paying him and he explained the remainder of the trip. Next he took us to Plastico 2000. And why, you ask, do we need to go there? Well, the complete supply of toys intended for our stay on Isla Amantani had been depleted ...
Lima, Peru livesnake... and Loco Leo preceded to take a shower and arrange his things, panicking heavily as normally we travel alone and tend to be at bus stations with ample time I had no choice but to shout for Leo to hurry up who came running out in a towel and changed in the cab. We just made the bus, thankfully as it was not cheap and headed to Cuzco, being such a jump in height we both felt a little sick on the bus through the next but on arrival in the quaint town of Cuzco we felt great!
Lima, Peru jon-daniellaMy first "organized" tour wound to a close as we arrived in the mostly modern city of Lima, Peru and those in our group of 9 began to part ways and head either home (Japan, Ireland, Australia or the US) or on to their next adventures abroad. We enjoyed one last night on the town together, joining another group of fun Brits who had been in S America for 3 weeks, playing an interesting version of rock/paper/scissors and ...
