... this period of year there are mostly aged people resting there, however I noticed there a lot of clubs near the beaches, so I consider that in summer this town is full of students. The beaches are sandy and what is important all those beaches are public. And one more thing - there are NO PRIVATE BEACHES in Lloret de Mar!
Lloret de Mar, Catalonia, Spain and Canary Islands eleoshka... to see for ourselves.

Tossa was just as they had described it – a lovely beach in a large bay with a castle on the peninsula. The weather was lovely as we explored the town and found a restaurant behind the castle wall to have lunch, where Alison got to taste paella at last. She enjoyed the meal – although she had to admit the paella she had ...

Milly had been regaling us with stories of hot chocolate and churros so we went in search of them – to no avail, but we did find that overnight a huge market had set up along the waterfront in L’Escala. There were plenty of bargains here, and it attracted a lot of customers from across the border in ...
L'Escala, Catalonia, Spain and Canary Islands kevino101... with the amazing view of the swimming pool only a few metres from the French doors of the unit with the sea only a little way beyond that. Stunning!

We decided to reorganize our luggage and pack only enough for the night away and leave the remainder in the room so there would be more room for Chris & Milly’s bags in the car. Things couldn’t have worked out better! It looked like our stay in L’Escala would be a real relaxing break.

Tossa de Mar, Catalonia, Spain and Canary Islands nanofino... to be of that mindset, if I'm even allowed to have an opinion being an American) Anyway that's the very brief history of Catalunya as a part of Spain and France. Catalan is spoken and written everywhere here (and every place we visited this weekend). It's a beautiful language, a mixture of spanish and french, but it's own unique entity as well. I wish I could understand it-that would make maneuvering Barcelona a lot smoother.
Anyway Besalu was ...

Tossa de Mar, Catalonia, Spain and Canary Islands buckgw... in part and not quite so sensitively in others, the walls are worth an hour or more of anybody's time, although some sections might be a bit much for vertigo suffers. We picked out a Short-toed Eagle over some nearby hills before setting off to explore the towers and elevated paths that took us round in a loop and eventually back down to the river near the Pont de Pedra. We stopped at the first likely looking café and sat under the ...
