Very early start today, breakfast at 6.30 and left the hotel by 7.15 to catch the Highland Chieftain back to King's Cross London. All was well until we got about 1/2 hour out of Inverness when they had just served coffee, the train started jerking and then pulled to a stop. We had brake problems! So delayed again, this time they got the train going ...
... to see Churchill's War Room Museum. Again we found ourselves standing in a line. Not as bad as in Paris.... so we toughed it out. It was great to see where Churchill managed the efforts of WWII. ----------------- We decided to go for a walk... and there it was Buckingham Palace. Met some gents that were true West Ham United Fans. Great guys.... they decided to go for a dip in the fountain in front of the the palace. We took some shots and decided to go back ...
... to Di and John on skype this morning, more Swiss talk, we now have a plan of attack. Russ contacted Airbnb hosts and some have got back to us and we are still waiting for the others, but it is all coming together. We are looking forward to seeing Di and John, but don't tell John I said that.
After we had done our homework and it had stopped raining, we went for a putter, we ended up at Cuffley. Quite a very well to do area, lovely ...
... looked and smelled very good. Us girls had a little look around town then met up with the boys at the pub where we were having lunch. Because of the train timetable we didn't have a great deal of time together, but it was very good catching up.
Back home and it is a long wait to hear any news on Brownie's condition, will keep you up to date in the next blog.
