... have healthcare and free college education at state schools. Mert says taxes are high....although corporate taxes are lower (15%). Also, boys must serve one year in the military. Their economy is good. Right now their biggest issue is the Syrian refugees. So...Turkish history lesson 101 done! We're on the bus now on our way to Cappadoccia, where we will be spending 3 nights. ... Turkey since 1923. It is large (4 million people) and relatively modern. It has a historical past with linkages in prehistoric times to the Hittites(2000BC), the Phrygians(1000BC), the Lydians, Persians, Alexander the Great(325BC), Romans, Goths, Arabs, etc. Seems like everyone who was going somewhere passed through this region!

Tomorrow we are going to Cappadocia with its unique natural wonders.
