... Cheng Do took one and half hours each way and as we were sailing again at 2pm, there was not a lot of time on our hands. The visits were to two temples and to a shopping street / market (although the closest we got to the latter was a drive through the precinct).

Our tour guide said to call her Hayley as it sounded like her Chinese name. She was a 20 something Chinese lady who has a degree and Masters in Education and is in the ...

I still loved having a peek in all the tulous; despite the fact that they were all similar architecturally and the layout was also similar, they each had a different character. ... lane ways. Unfortunately our planned guide was a no show, so while we didn't get to see the botanical gardens, we were able to have more time to wander the heart of the city and it certainly showed to be a first world city, with modern amenities and a rich cultural heritage.
The people were extremely welcoming and we didn't see the crowds we expected as most streets were wide walking boulevards that were only moderately busy. We then ventured onto ...

Today we as per usual, got up and pampered ourselves then headed to get breakfast once again, catching up with people we've met along the way. Quite a few people were going on the same tour as ours so there was lots of buses heading out. Today we are doing The Essence of Xiamem, which takes us to a temple, a beach Buddah ( and I don't mean us on the beach!!) then to a pedestrian shopping mall.
Our first stop was at the Temple and the first thing we had to do ...
