... Highway 214. Habitat from Gonghe (共和) to Santala (三塔拉) is mainly desert and shrubs which are sparsely distributed. We stopped at waymark 193km, hopefully to look for for sandgrouses, but we found Plain-backed Snowfinch and Horned Lark. From Santala to Heka Pass (河卡山口), the altitude rose to 3900m at the mountain pass. White-rumped Snowfinch appeared tame and we got a good chance again for pictures ...
