... lush a bit like Byron hinterland. Then the surf beaches and rock formations reminded me a little of point perry near Coolum. Nice! Of course this place has a style all its own we're in Japan! :) Very excited to be here. Destination: Shimoda and our home for 3 nights at Shirahama beach. It's a little surfie town that looks straight out of the seventies. Our plan is to relax after the big city. We're all glad to be here. Only drawback is the rain. We're hoping for some fine ...

... We all went out to dinner afterwards and wondered....did we just have dinner with the future mayor of Nagasaki? Cool! We then went to see night life in Osaka. We went to a place called Dotonbori known for its food and big signs. Wow, Vegas and New York watch out. There were so many lights and big signs it was crazy! ... some more we find out they also serve what he describes as a "smorgasbord" with free wine from the Winery. Smorgasbord it will be.... it's a fairly large buffet with Japanese and Western style food, replenished when needed and quite tasty. A busload of Chinese tourists also has dinner here, a busy evening for the restaurant for sure. A red and a white wine from the Naka-Izu Winery are free, you do have to play for a beer though. We go out hoping to catch a glimpse of Fuji-san, no such ...

... expected and the road doesn't quite hug the coastline as we had hoped. We stop at Ito Marine World where we hope to find something to eat. There are public onsens, restaurants with outside patios, souvenir shops and an "ashiyu" or hot springs public footbath. It's a nice and sunny day, perfect temperature to have lunch outside. After lunch Juliet and I take our shoes off and enjoy a nice foot bath overlooking the small harbor and the ...
