... a little air dryer for your backside). There's an internal fan that comes on to avoid any unpleasant odors. There's probably a button to cause wheels to appear so you can drive the thing down the street... Anyway, suffice it to say that the Japanese have advanced the technology of toilets.

Now, could somebody explain to them to adopt toilet paper with a little more heft than single ply?
Nikko, Kanto, Japan jbossert...

Bis bald also...

Private, not a sento, but hot enough to peel paint and just the thing for sore muscles. The whole Japanese process where you shower/rinse first, then get in the tub to soak.

So.

Jaa mata.
Nikkō, Tochigi, Japan bi_x... of the countryside and areas you may miss if you had travelled by air. It may just be me, but one really interesting thing about visiting other countries is just seeing where people live, namely their houses or dwelling places. When you ride the train you get to see stuff like that.

Nikko was a really beautiful town and the temperature was quite a bit cooler which was a welcome change from the humidity in Tokyo. The train ...
Nikkō, Tochigi, Japan michaelsavage... Tobu Nikko station, I walked up to Rinnyoji temple by way of Shinkyo Sacred Bridge. It was farther and more boring than I had expected, but the long distance walk was a good exercise.

There was the shrine, Toshogu, just a few minutes walk away from Rinnyoji temple. That is the best spot of Nikko with elaborate architectures and fine arts. One of the most famous arts is "Three Wise ...
Nikkō, Tochigi, Japan misocutlet... They were very helpful and we got public bus tickets, expensive $20 (like everything else here) and rode out a half hour up a windy mountain road to Chuzen-ji Lake. From the bus stop we walked 300 meters to Kegon Falls, pretty nice as far as falls goes, similiar but not as nice as Akaka Falls, Hawaii... I'm just saying. Then we walked to the lake and was a little bummed out by the hiking trail options and it started to ...
Nikko, Kanto, Japan trizzyb... ticket to see three of the big shrines-Rinno-ji, Toshogu, and Futara. At first a bit expensive but compared to Kyoto, which nickel and dimed you everywhere, not too bad. The entry to the Nikko complex is the sacred Shinkyo bridge, which used to be private but is now open to the public...for a price, of course. In fact, to control who has bought a ticket and is allowed on the bridge, they sealed off the exit. So you can't actually use the bridge ...
50 km/h. V zastavanej oblasti takmer bez výnimky, mimo miestami aj 70 km/h. To iba odhadujem, pretoze som to nikde nevidel napísané.
Nikko, Japan mimiamaOnsen are Japanese hot springs, and they're all over the country, especially in scenic spots. But that's not quite enough in Japan, so they also have sento, which are public baths (not naturally heated hotsprings). Sento are literally everywhere. Since Japanese homes and ...
