We were planning to go to Liechtenstein but thought we may as well as it was sort of on our way. It's the worlds 6 smallest country so it would have been rude not to go..haha.

We didn't drive to the main town but to another.. where really there wasn't anything. I did get a photo with the tourist sign though. Had to somehow prove I'd been there!
Liechtenstein, Liechtenstein emmasadventures... found a spot. Touris tat and postcards were the first stop. Luckily the little kiosk took Euros - we hadn't thought of that! But he didn't sell stamps, and directed us towards the post office. They took Euro notes, but gave change in Swiss francs, which seemed a bit odd. Anyway, no choice, so the cards got posted. At ast we were back on track.
The way back to the car park ...
Vaduz, Vaduz, Liechtenstein dirtyweekendersOur third stop of the day was our first in Austria. Now I was entering undiscovered lands! Feldkirch is right on the Switzerland border. The old town centre is surrounded by towers, and a castle sits on a hill above.

We explored Feldkirch and a few of its towers. The old town is quite charming with its colorful buildings, trickling fountains, and small shops. When we tried to ...
Feldkirch, Austrian Alps, Austria travelingdiva... weren't too interested so they took Lincoln (who couldn't go with us) and we went to have a look. It was a rewarding visit. It is amazing to think how long ago some of those books and transcripts were written, and how well cared for they must be to remain in excellent condition. The library itself is breathtaking, with leather bound books lining the shelves, large windows (no doubt filtered), elaborate woodwork and staircases, and a muraled ceiling ...
St. Gallen, St. Gallen, Switzerland travelingdivaWork has been quite slow lately so since I had nothing better to do today, I took a train to Sargans, Switzerland, and then waited for a bus to Vaduz, Liechtenstein. I missed the bus that left 4 minutes after I arrived. By missed, I mean I couldn't find it until I saw it driving past me. And there are only two or three bus stands in Sargans at the train station, so it was completely due to a lack of intelligence on my part.

Once I ...
Vaduz, Liechtenstein travelingdiva... ticket office and see if by some chance he's actually buying a ticket, but... he's gone, disappeared, vanished! Then there was the guy at the bus station in Pristina, Kosovo. I was waiting for the bus when a nice-looking woman comes and sits a few seats away. Well not three minutes have passed until Vitalis man comes putting the moves on, purring sweet nothings under the radar. She blows him off, but politely, much too ...
Vaduz, Liechtenstein hardiek... and he threw a bit of a tantrum and said he'd walk if they did. Lichtenstein is famous for false dentures, of which they produce the most in the world. They have a museum of calculators, and are famous for their stamps. I had a hotdog for lunch served to me by the most put-upon worker I've ever encountered. I dared to interrupt his conversation and then he had to actually heat up the bread, by gods. They have some beautiful scenery and not a ...
Vaduz, Liechtenstein bubba_oliver... finished our walk this morning the weather turned cloudier and cooler. We came back upstairs to our room for a little rest. I can’t believe that I’m still tired, even after being outside and walking around, so I lay down for about an hour. After our little break, we headed out (once more) to tackle the mountain behind the hotel. Just to get to the paths up to the mountain, I was huffing and puffing (have to note here that Bev took advantage of each rest stop ...
Davos, Graubünden, Switzerland pemalak... the [crop] after it had been cut. They were using hand held tools - pitch forks and stuff. You'd think it was a different cetury. Mind you, it is now. There was a Swiss faimily in the chalet behind us and I kept up a correspondence with the oldest girl, Pia, for a few years, until I stopped learning German at school and couldn't get my teacher to translate my letters any more... The holiday was also memorable as it was the first time that we had ever seen duvets ...
Vaduz, Liechtenstein monk-san... Vaduz. The Prince and Princess live in the castle on the mountainside above Vaduz, which is in the middle of the country. Being here is like living in a fairy tale, or perhaps, a museum: medieval architecture, cobblestone streets, castles with surrounding farms and villages and cows. Skiing here is great!
