... are. The distilleries were surprisingly accessible, with all of them offering tours of the caves and tastings, for a fee of course. We were only able to visit a couple (Porto seems to close for 2 hours during lunch) before catching our evening flight out, but we are glad to have tried some new and very interesting kinds of port. Thank you Portugal, we will be back to see more.

Porto, Northern Portugal, Portugal europapart123We arrived without incident after a short and pleasant journey. Odd campsite mainly permanent encampments! Most of them looked like they had been there for many years. We were entertained by families arriving over the weekend to pack up for the winter. They cleared out all the rubbish that they had accumulated over the summer. They then covered their caravan.awning and covered area with tarpaulin and tied it down and put stones ...
Aveiro, Aveiro, Portugal mikeandsuecuffWe drove to Madelana about 8 kilometers from Porto. As we got near Jessica decided that she was no longer going to be our sat nav floozie and left us in the lurch in a narrow cobbled street. A kind passerby volunteered to accompany us out of difficulty but there was no room in the car. Where upon a passing motorist stopped and offered to lead us to the camp site. There followed a journey down twisting cobbled streets some of them two way as he stopped the oncoming ...
Porto, Porto, Portugal mikeandsuecuff... they were hardcore). Good thing we opted for the boogie boards because once in the water, the waves were massive and the undertow was insanely strong. Our hostel was amazing and the owner was chill and helped us map out some cool surf and kite spots along the coast.

http://picasaweb.google.c om/Jonny.D.Lawrence/20091007Aveiro?auth key=Gv1sRgCOOE_tn74bSSKA&feat=direc tlink
Aveiro, Beiras, Portugal sofenjon... the better part of an hour looking for any restaurant that was opened. Our meals were : a tuna salad (a can of tuna, unrippened tomatoes and lettuce) and pork (a peice of pork, rice and french fries.) Long story short we were more then enthusiastic to get on the road in the morning to leave Porto behind

Porto, Northern Portugal, Portugal donwenGuess this is the wind down point after two months on the road before I headed back to Ye Olde London town which is probably why I haven't much to report. With a little over a week in Portugal I doubt I did the country justice and only touched the surface. I hit the little hostel which was new and a little inexperienced at it as they had quality ...
Porto, Northern Portugal, Portugal ddoumani... to take a plane back Porto (5.02) It is our first time doing a trip like that and also first time using Couch Surfing. Last to days I spent discovering CS network and filling in my profile. Hope we will find place to stay in every city. We already were lucky to find one in Milan. To be honest it took me an year create a profile in CS since I read an article in newspaper where I got know about it. CS as an great idea that not only is useful while traveling but also ...
Aveiro, Beiras, Portugal portoryko... cars and Museums. Nice city though. Villa Nova Milfontes - This was a beach town that was so packed that the campsite looked like a refugee area. All of Portugal has August off for vaction. This being so everything was crowed, prices were high and lines were out the door. The camp site as you can see from the pictures was insanley packed. The funny thing about camping here is that Portugese don't camp for camping sake, they camp because its cheaper. So they virtually bring their entire ...
