Well, the bus and train connections to Guangdong are really good, so I didn't even stay overnight anywhere this weekend.

I booked a train ticket for 11:50 p.m. leaving from Changsha and completely forgot how early the buses shut down here. The town was really dark, only few lamp post and I had to ask for direction. Thanks god I ...

... private room, and he had obviously called ahead to order the food. On the table was a roast chicken and in the middle of the table was a large wok filled with water. Mr. Guan opened Belgium beer and we had many toasts of "gombai" and Happy New Year. We started with roast chicken, which tasted sort of smoked. Then the waitress came in, started a flame under the ...

New Year's Eve and our orphanage visit

... reasons. I'm not sure exactly what that meant since we could take pictures of the 2-4 year olds, but I know there was bad press right before the olympics about China "exporting" their babies, and deplorable conditions shown in a rural orphanage. All adoptions slowed down then, and I would guess the "privacy" means for the orphanage, not for the babies. I'm not sure why, but we were kind of rushed through the facility. Maybe because it was a holiday, and the director wanted ...
