    Olde worlde charm

This hotel was a fine place. Clean, charming and quaint it had an olde worlde feel. I'm not snooty enough to appreciate the true height of its fineness, in fact, I think. Room was a little too small I should say, and the bathroom was fairly dingy and dark. The fridge door hit the foot of the bed the room was so small. But the location is lovely and a walk early in the morning round the place is very relaxing. Oh and breakfast was epic. Not as extravagant as Movenpick Petra of course, but for the price and the size of the hotel it was great.

I have had the privilege of travelling to 9 countries since starting my job in Kuwait. I'll be going to Turkey today, my last one for this first year. Following is a poem for each one, which I wrote in a bout of inspiration on the Balcony Walk, near Jebel Shams in Oman. The Turkey poem is in the pictures :-)

Breakfast was so disappointing here, I love the muesli that is available in Turkey and yesterday it was on the breakfast choice but not today because they have run out! I can't toast the bread either. Feeling bothered .

After breakfast we walk to the clock tower in the old city and find the tram line to catch one to the museum. We have …

Off on another bus trip to see more of Ancient Turkey. As we arrived in Perge, Anya and I saw two tortoises on the side of the road wondering into the bush. That was exciting! We are in a big bus today and we have the front seat yeah.

Walking around Perge we find there are still closed off area as new excavation work is being carried out. …

A drive along the coast from Kas to Antalya is so beautiful. The road is windy and the view includes cliffs, mountains and forest. We were told that in the forest are bears, boars, turtles and deer. Nothing sighted by us though. Although we did see turtles yesterday on the road back from Kekova.

A road side stop for refreshments means …
