Starting with a 5 night stay in Melbourne, we managed to cover most of the city itself, St Kilda's and some of the suburbs. Shopping was more fun than I remembered as the DFO was just a short walk away from our hotel And the eating was equally good (from Indian to Chinese, Italian to Australian), the food was always good. Queen Victoria Market is a must visit place, and the freshly made dips and pastries are simply to die for. Le Bon Cafe at St Kilda's and the fish and chips shop further down...

... this very nice man carried my bag off the train for me and pointed me in the right direction to get a cab to my hotel. Everyone here is so so nice and very helpful!

I found a cab, told him my hotel and he dropped me off. The cab drivers here are a bit scary and I am still getting used to the driving on the other side of the road! More than a few times, I was scared we were ...

Sydney, New South Wales, Australia elli78... spaghetti, only didn't know you had to rent plates and utensils from reception, so I ate it with a mixing spoon from a pan- so creative.

The hostel had a mechanic surf board, and while chilling in the lounge we found a surviellance camera that was showing it. I was exhausted and knew I was leaving tomorrow so had to get some sleep, otherwise I would have been on that surfboard like there is no tomorrow
Sydney, New South Wales, Australia allyworldtravelCaught the ferry to the zoo. Taronga Zoo is ment to have the best view for a zoo in the world - it is quite impressive, you get glimpses of the city, bridge and opera house from different points around the zoo.

We didn't bother focusing on the non australian animals as Becky said 'we can see spider monkeys in england'. The animals were quite active today - we ...
Sydney, New South Wales, Australia judith.myhillIch habe lange ueberlegt, ob ich diesen Blog ueberhaupt weiterschreiben soll.
Sydney, Australia stefanieandalex... Day, which was tougher than we thought, seeing as all the pubs were jammed packed and spilling out on to the street all playing two up. Work continued as usual throughout the working week. Then came to this week where my mate Nick Ollie came up for the weekend. He arrived on Friday night after leaving Melbourne that morning. As he pulled in, he had a passenger, a Japanese backpacker called Cosco who had been hitchhiking across Australia for 11 months, Nick just happened to pick ...
Sydney, New South Wales, Australia goontack... to see her again - I'm still amazed at how she can do so much despite having lost her sight - she's amazing! On Sunday we packed up our bags once again (they are getting very very full and very very heavy!) and went into Melbourne, to catch our bus to Sydney that evening...during the day we met up with Danielle & Ben (friends from home) and their son Noah, and had a lovely lunch with them, it was weird seeing people from home half way across the world ...
Sydney, New South Wales, Australia katandstevie... since my brother Brady was holding a large party and my other siblings were coming to Chicago for it. Also notable is that most of my friends were traveling for the weekend- Ryan to Tasmania for his aunt's wedding, Most of my girl friends did a "wilderness weekend" through school, and a group went to Fiji for the weekend. My bank account standing prevented me from joining them on any trips, since I don't have a job lined up yet and ...
