We spent today wandering around Perth, which seems a really nice city, manageable and compact. Xmas decorations were up everywhere, making the pedestrian malls look very festive and welcoming, so we meandered along, fortified with some coffee. ... day we spent on South Beach in Fremantle which was lovely as the water was so clear and it was not too busy. We walked around Fremantle and went to the Shipwreck and Maritime Museum and the markets. Whilst this disaster occurred as a result of a complex series of factors, it can only be seen as an absolute tragedy to Rwanda and its people. Time spent at this memorial will be an emotionally moving and important way to understand the sheer courage and resilience of people of this beautiful, tiny nation. Our tour comes to an end after our visit to the memorial.
