You can't travel to the top of the Matterhorn at 4450metres, a little high and a little steep except on foot and that might be a bit outside our skill level. ... and actually see the CMS, which was pretty incredible. The photos don't do it justice – it is just so big and so intricate. The engineers who came up with the design of the thing must be just as genius as the scientists who use the equipment. Unfortunately we didn't get to go into the tunnel and see the collider pipeline underground, but we were lucky to see anything at all. This time next year it will be too dangerous to be anywhere near the CMS ...
