      Reflection

Well just under a week to go and time for a little reflection. What makes this place special? It is crowded, noisy and full of scenes of great suffering at times.... but it is also full of a sense of community, people coming together and laughing and crying together, it is full of a sense of freedom where people can come and practice a spiritual path and ...

Sat. Today was a wondrous day, up early and breakfast on the go...Cappucino and banana muffin! We headed for the White Monastery as we had been told Chökyi Nyima, our teacher was back. We didn't know what time he was arriving so we arrived early and sat in on the puja taking place there, sitting with 300 monks chanting the prayers to Guru Rinpoche to remove outer, inner and secret obstacles was a very powerful experience. Then outside in the sunshine waiting for Rinpoche, eventually ...

After eating, she took me to see one of the houses I was looking at possibly ...

... we all had a good laugh at the fact that I had no idea what I was doing and the ridiculous amount of luggage I had. Eventually, after going up and down the lift a few times I gave up and went to go chill, and figure **** out. I facetimed my sister and as I sat there this gentleman comes up to me and asks me to watch his luggage while he used the washroom...awful trusting! I could tell by his thick English accent he probably was from around ...

      On and on

A travel blog entry by philji on Dec 19, 2014

... spoke to Chime, Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche's attendant and he said to come see Rinpoche in a couple of days and he will give you something to put in it. We went to the Chod practice group in White Monastery today, it is interesting how this practice of " cutting through attachments" is featuring so much on this trip!!!! In the evening we met up with Simon and Mary from England who have lived out here for 18 months, helping out in an eye clinic for Rinpoche. ...
