Meadowbrook Resort Wisconsin Dells

We had a good time at The Wilderness resort. However, their customer service sucks! I found out later that is was not just us. Some other people we know went there about a month later and had the same poor customer service experience.

We enjoyed the indoor water parks and laser tag. Later that night we went to Ho Chunck Casion and had a little fun on the slot machines.

Mirror Lake State Park was our camping destination, close to all the water parks and shopping and it’s also a beautiful site.

Today we went to the Wisconsin Dells on a Duck ride.
These old vehicles were used in World War 2 to land the troops in the Normandy and also in the Vietnam war.
As a tourist attraction someone had the idea to take these boats or whatever for tours on and around the Wisconsin River.
My mum, step dad, and me enjoied a nice ride through different territories and over the Wisconsin River. Very nice country side.

... support for activation, they told me to download the software (obviously, could not grab the concept that I had no connectivity!!). While enroute to the Dells, the Tahoe engine light came on, so we spent a day with the car at the local GM dealer. That turned out to be an emissions issue, and was fixed under warranty.

Still at the Dells.....while packing up, I noticed that our bike rack did not seem particularly stable. It was in fact, in danger of breaking ...

... of course, I was keen - I love holidaying, and the flexibility of this, was perfect. But moving on .... kids were well and truly entertained in the free kids club, and we got a great presentation, and at the end of it, we all got a fantastic time in the two indoor water parks that were open. We did lose Brad at one point, and there was a slight panic situation, but all is well, and the kids got the most amazing slides and I got a soak in the spa.

Toward the late afternoon the ground began to become more rolling and the sparse trees gave way to scattered woods. Soon we dropped down into the Mississippi valley and crossed the mighty river into Wisconsin, where we found a campsite for our overnight stop. all credit to Chrissy who drove most of the day.

... TSA wants you to do..It may work here, but when i get to Japan or China they have very different rules. Sometimes I think they change the rules just because I am an American. We arrived... got drinks... set up the tents while drinking... pretty happy before 5pm... oh no... no wood for the bonfire... went to gas station.. bought marshmellows, more drinks, snacks, hot dogs... walked out and noticed big pile of firewood... oops... guess we should get some of that too...

... to the shear cliffs that were a haven to many rock climbers who we met along the way. Many were older than us. The rock formations and views here were incredible. We took a boat tour through the Upper Dells where the Wisconsin River winds through sandstone cliffs and rock formations. Over the years, the Wisconsin Dells has become quite the resort town, but we passed up the water parks and mini golf.

... fik vi slappet af med badning, læsning, bål med marshmallows på stranden om aftenen, dejlige måltider på den ekstremt hyggelige restaurant "Rivers Egde", og vi holdt os LAANGT væk fra turisthelvedet i centrum, dog tog vi en køre/sejltur på floden med et amfibie-køretøj; "Army Duck". Ha' det nu rigtig dejligt i lille Danevang - håber vejret snart er med jer.
